The purple stage

Your ride starts in Stolpen with a rapid descent down to the Wesenitz. The idyllic river valley is one of the scenic highlights of the RockHead, and the imposing Stolpen Castle will remain in your memory for a long time to come. The end of the stage is fast approaching, but not without a final, moderate climb before Dorf Wehlen, which takes you up another hundred meters in altitude before you gravel steeply into the Elbe valley to Stadt Wehlen. There you take the ferry across - but not without stopping by the market square first. The cyclists' church and numerous cafés invite you to take a short break, where you can review your gravel journey.

At the Daubemühle mill in Mühlsdorf, you should push downhill and uphill at the Wesenitz bridge. Not only is it steep here, but you will probably also encounter hikers.

Watch out for traffic on the descent to Stadt Wehlen.
